    Description

    Handsome Victorian sterling silver calling card case with London hallmarks for maker William Summers, and letter date for 1887.   Case is flat and plain on both sides with no engraving or decoration.  It has flip open top with a discreet push opening on side edge.   Measures 3-1/4" x 1-7/8", this is a bit smaller than modern-day business card, was made specifically for Victorian calling cards.   Inside lip with hallmarks is also engraved "London" and "July".   Weighs 48.63 grams. There are some small peck marks and fine scratches from age and use, overall very good with nothing significant or that detracts.
