Annabel Fox was one of Rowan's early designers.  She launched her own line of knitting yarns in the early 1990's with Cascade, then dropped out of the knitting scene all together.  Recently some of her needle point designs have reemerged.  Originally published in 1997 in

we offer a complete vintage yarn pack to knit this wonderful sweater.  The jumper is knit from 3 shades of long discontinued Annabel Fox indigo dyed denim yarn "Mariner" - very similar to Rowan's Original Denim yarn.  The design features a repeating series of fair isle motifs on an indigo blue background which creates a perfect unisex design perfect for all seasons.  The pattern can be made in any of three sizes ranging from a finished chest/bust measurement of 45.5 inches to a finished chest/bust measurement of 52 inches.  The pattern specifies two sleeve lengths - one for women and one for men.   Knit using either the fair isle technique or the motif intarsia technique where the background is carried across the row but each motif uses a separate hank of yarn.  Suitable for intermediate. The pattern calls for an average tension of 24 stitches and 25 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 7 (4.5 mm) needles before washing.  Mariner, like all denim dyed cotton yarns shrinks on first washing and the pattern takes this into account.
